Your character can be recruited into Darth Vaders Army by accident. All of these senerios are possible here in the polyverse and more. So its time to break out of the shell of keeping your creativity tightly snuggled up in a box.

Understanding the Mechanics of overall Roleplay on RoleplayRealms:
Uncharted Areas | Categorizing & Proper Tagging
When posting a new forum topic in general as well as for adventuring or exploring an uncharted area on the Map please be sure to include in the title of your post the specific location or area from the Realms Map as well as the proper Tags for your Rps: [Private, Closed, Open, Prompt, Event, Instance | Dungeon, Vs | Raid | Challenge]. These tags should only be added to your forum posts not to the wiki or blog posts. Please, However do include the Area Location within your Wiki Titles.
Example of accepted Title For Forum : [OPEN] C6 | Asphodel | The Withered Forest
Example of accepted Title For Wiki: C6 | Asphodel | The Withered Forest (You may also include terms like: Discovered | Semi-UnTrodded (meaning slightly have been traveled over or through)
Final Example of Accepted Title For Wiki: [Semi-UnTrodded] C6 | Asphodel | The Withered Forest
These ways of tagging and categorizing both in the title and in the tag section along with picking the correct area to post and correct category for your posts to show up in will better keep the Site organized. Aide Players in finding, adapting and incorporating the newly available information into their roleplays.
Understanding the Mechanics and Systems of RoleplayRealms:
Magic & Cultural Laws of each of the Realms
Every area on the map has its own Magical System of Laws. Characters must follow these rules while in that area.
Example: If your character is powerful in high magic but enters a low-magic zone, their magical abilities will be limited until they leave.
This rule is meant to enhance roleplay by encouraging adaptability rather than restricting it.
Each location has unique cultures, fashion, etiquette, and traditions that must be followed.
Example: Your character may need to rent, buy, or change outfits at a local shop to blend in.
Inventory & Appearance Requirements
Every character must carry an Item Bag (purse, tool belt, etc.) as an inventory list of all items they have on them.
This list must be posted in an unedited starter/entry post and kept up to date by the player.
Starter/entry posts must include:
Visible and hidden weapons
Physical appearance details
Character’s clothing description
Etc.
Entering & Exiting Locations
Each character must make both an entry post and an exit post.
Failure to post an exit means the character remains standing in place like a mannequin, vulnerable to anything happening in that area.
Combat Rules
All combat must be mutually agreed upon by both players before the fight begins.
Battles must occur outside of safe zones.
Safe Zones: Small areas where characters during their rp have pitched up a tent and created a fire to have their group or character rest, and gather their barrings. Characters can use these safe zones to bathe, use the redtroom, rest, sleep, cook more Rations from things in their inventory, and fortify their weapons so durability of that weapon stays high. Safe Zones also allows players to bring more realisim into the roleplay and is highly encouraged to do so.
Non-Engagement Rules
Players are not forced into combat and may decline battles.
If a player ignores a refusal of combat and attacks anyway, the Guardians of the Realms will intervene:
The offender’s character will be imprisoned for 3-5 days (or more, depending on the severity).
The offender must pay a 950G fine.
Storyline vs. Non-Storyline Battles
Storyline Battles:
These battles develop organically as tensions build through continuous roleplay.
This is Encouraged: as they add depth, rivalries, and character growth.
In deathmatches, a defeated character may return to life through story-based resurrection unless it’s established that they are permanently dead.
Non-Storyline Battles:
Occur when a character challenges another without prior interaction or story context.
This is Discouraged: as they promote random fighting without narrative depth.
Characters who die in these battles stay dead, as they lack story justification for revival.
Types of Roleplay Battles
Missions:
Missions involve characters interacting with the nomads of the lands, fighting monsters, or resolving local issues.
They can take place anywhere unless stated otherwise.
Possible consequences:
Loss of resources
Near-death experiences
Permanent death is rare but possible
Duels:
One-on-one fights with no interruptions. No character deaths occur in duels.
Interrupted Engagements:
Spontaneous battles that others can join if acknowledged by the original fighters. Basically have to be tagged into. Often result in casualties but rarely in intentional deaths.
Group vs. Group Battles
Occur for reasons like:
Revenge
Power struggles
Resources Etc.
Only group members and allies can participate.
Both casualties and deaths are possible.
PvE/PvP in Instances:
Instances are enclosed, generated areas where characters face challenges alone or in groups.
Characters cannot leave until the instance is completed.
Both PvE (player vs. environment) and PvP (player vs. player) can occur.
Permanent deaths cannot occur, but the experience can be psychologically or physically grueling to the character.
PvE/PvP in Dungeons:
Dungeons are instanced areas with multiple rooms, corridors, and bosses.
Both PvE (player vs. environment) and PvP (player vs. player) can occur.
Betrayal is possible—players may kill teammates for better loot.
Permanent deaths can occur in dungeons.
Raids:
Realm-wide events where groups compete for control of a resource-rich area.
Battles are non-lethal—fights continue until one group concedes or loses.
The winning group controls the area for one real-life week to gather resources.
Failure to actively gather resources during this time means no rewards.
Sieges:
When a location is overrun by enemies or monsters, cutting off resources.
Long, drawn-out battles that deplete character inventories.
Challenges include:
Loss of food, weapons, and resources
Exhaustion, hunger, and psychological toll
Players must defend the area and assist NPCs | nomads of the land until the threat is eliminated.
Event Wars:
Major storyline-altering wars hosted by staff.
Open to all players and involve both PvP and PvE.
Massive casualties, loss of resources, and near-death experiences are common.
Characters who die can be revived through roleplay, if justified.
Death Matches:
A fight to the death where all players agree that one character must die.
Death is not permanent in the storyline unless explicitly written as such.
Prior to Accepting a Fight:
Before engaging, players should agree on:
The type of battle
The stakes involved
The possibility of death
Battle Details Should Always Include Things Such As:
Distance & Attack Impact
All attacks must be detailed, including:
Weapon durability & length
Distance between fighters
Attack Outcomes:
Fully connected attack → Full damage taken
Partially connected attack → Half damage taken
Dodged attack → Loses next attack turn ( but may still prep )
Counterattack → Slight toll on the attacker
After-Battle Consequences:
Fatigue & Recovery: Players must post about resting and regaining strength before engaging in another fight.
Conceding a Battle:
If a character admits defeat mid-fight, the battle ends immediately. The conceding character loses the match.
Win or loss of Battle: A win is considered a win and a loss is considered a loss towards a characters battle reputation.
Void Within Roleplay Battles
Breaking these will Also cause the Guardians of the Realms to Appear and attack your character. A battle action is considered VOID if it violates any of the following rules:
1. Breaking the Map's Magical System Laws
If your character performs an action that contradicts the established magical system of the battle location, the action is void.
2. Using Unposted Weapons or Items
If your character utilizes weapons, items, or abilities that were not included in their original, unedited starter post, the action is void. Or using items that your character doesn't own - Void.
3. Using an Unjustified 'Ultimate Ability'
If your character suddenly uses an Ultimate Ability they do not have access to and claims it is due to "Divine Intervention" or "Main Character Energy," the action is void. Or If your character activates an Unmastered Ultimate Ability and attempts to pass it off as fully mastered in that moment, the action is void.
4. Metagaming (Using OOC Knowledge IC)
If your character suddenly knows another character’s weaknesses based on player knowledge (not in-character interactions), the action is void.
5. Attempts to harm or Kill Nomads of the Lands (The NPCs) Of the Realms.
Nomads of the Lands have their own Storylines and Fates - Where even some may die by other Nomads of the Land. They are essentially the towns people merchants etc. That bring the roleplay and like in a game the mmorpg to life. Attempts to Harm, Have ones way with, Kidnap to assist in one's own escape will only cause the Guardians of the realms to appear and attack your character full on. Guardians of the Realms will appear and subdue the perpetrator. Placing their character in prision for 3-5 days or more depending on the severity of the situation. The perpetrator will also have to pay a [ 1500G ] Fine.
How and When to Use Dice on RoleplayRealms
Players only need to roll the dice once to determine the following outcomes:
Monster & Creature Rewards – Determines the reward received after defeating a monster or creature.
Mining Success – Determines if the player successfully gathers the ore they are mining for.
Flora & Fauna Gathering – Determines if the player successfully collects plants, herbs, or other resources.
Lifeskill Mastery & Usage – Determines if the character succeeds in learning a new lifeskill (e.g., cooking, potion-making) or successfully applies an existing lifeskill (e.g., following a recipe correctly).
Crafting Success – Determines if the character successfully crafts a new weapon or piece of armor.
Dice Roll Results and Their Effects
Absolute Failure (2 - 12) → The character fails completely, suffering a negative consequence (e.g., breaking an item, sustaining an injury, or losing a resource).
Slight Failure (13 - 23) → The character still achieves their goal but suffers a minor consequence (e.g., partial damage to an item, minor injury, or losing a small amount of resources).
Slight Success (24 - 34) → The character succeeds without any penalties and achieves their objective.
Absolute Success (35 - 40) → The character fully succeeds and gains an extra bonus or reward.
Ways to Earn Experience Fairly Roleplaying on RoleplayRealms:
Characters gain experience growth | progression by engaging in various in-game activities. RoleplayRealms does not be an automatic point-based system but rather a narrative progression system where growth is earned through roleplay consistency. For It is only through the consistency of posting while utilizing all of the elements our site provides that players characters can even hope to achieve power, status, wealth and more. The more your character participates the players post the stronger ones character becomes - However if one does not take full advantage of all our website offers nor participates in any of the site activities, ones character will never have true growth.
Mission Completion
Completing Realm Missions provides wealth, and skill refinement
Combat Experience (PvE & PvP)
Battles improve combat ability, but reckless fighting does not automatically grant strength. Experience in battle is gained through: damage taken, resources used, and tactical decisions - rather than just winning.
Crafting & Lifeskills
Things like cooking, blacksmithing, alchemy, and crafting weapons or armor etc. Will increase ones expertise Failed attempts do not provide experience but a lesson in persistence. Only successful attempts will increase one's Mastery.
Cultural & Social Integration
Learning languages, customs, and etiquette grants soft skill experiences and helps characters blend into different regions and avoid unnecessary conflict.
Siege & Raid Participation
Large-scale battles test endurance, leadership, and tactical thinking. Experience and rewards depend on active engagement, contribution to the team, and survival tactics.
Skill Progression Through Dice Rolls:
Every time a character successfully performs a skill-related action (crafting, gathering, battle tactics, etc.), they mark a of progression toward skill mastery.
Realistic Combat Progression
Rather than leveling up purely by winning fights, combat improvement depends on the number of engagements, battle experience, and tactical decisions. Non-lethal duels help refine technique. Sparring does not grant immediate power but provides gradual improvements in combat tactics.
Successful Defense in Sieges:
Surviving a siege builds resilience, strategy, and endurance. While Fighting without proper resource management leads to exhaustion and loss.
Acknowledging Battle Fatigue:
Characters who repeatedly fight without rest should experience negative effects (weaker attacks, slow reactions, etc.).
Players must roleplay recovery (rest, healing, meditation) before engaging in new battles.
Storyline Development & Reputation
A character’s reputation, alliances, and decisions affect their standing in the world. Progression should reflect how they interact with the environment and other characters.
Political Influence: Gains favor or authority in different Realms.
Moral Alignments: Choices in quests and interactions shape a character’s reputation.
Dynamic Rivalries & Alliances: Well-developed relationships can impact future battles.
Roleplay-Driven Titles:
Characters earn titles based on actions, achievements, and experiences (e.g., "Master Blacksmith," "Monster Slayer," "Warlord").
Titles do not provide stat boosts but add narrative prestige and influence in RP.
Resource & Economy Growth
A character’s wealth and access to resources directly impact their ability to progress. Instead of leveling up through raw power, they can upgrade their inventory, gear, and skills through:
Successful crafting & trade → Improveing crafting professions.
Purchasing rare materials or enchanted items → Increasing combat ability.
Owning property or land → Creating passive income.
Resurrection & Death Consequences
Storyline Battles Allow Resurrections:
If a character dies in a story-driven battle, they can return via a detailed revival arc.
Resurrection should take significant roleplay effort rather than being instant.
Non-Storyline Deaths Are Permanent:
If a character dies in an unjustified, random battle, resurrection is not possible.
Near-Death Experiences Impact Future Battles:
If a character barely survives, they should roleplay injuries, trauma, or strategic changes.
